research & discovery
As Vivint’s first endeavor into E-Commerce, it was important to understand how the entire supply chain would fit into the broader plan. As a team (Project Manager, Product Manager, Senior Designer, VP of Product Experience) we first worked on a service blueprint of the experience. This was crucial in moving forward into each next phase of the project for the team.
As Lead UX on the team, this step really helped guide me into the next step of architecture and wireframing.
architecture
The service blueprint helped us create a physical checklist of what needs to be included in our next step, user flows. This was super critical to formulate what pages communicated with each other, and their level of hierarchy. The Sr UXD and I brainstormed together how the flow might be most effective and shared it with our team for approval.
Our last phase was to do some competitive analysis and research some beacons of effective product account management.
hi-fidelity design testing
We wireframed the flow and developed early designs for testing the concept with actual current Vivint customers through usertesting.com. Our objective was to understand what information our customers needs when seeking to improve their security system.
beta delivery
After launching our beta store inside the app the previous July, the store has performed higher than anticipated.
